Expanding our Body Map: Pathways to Emotional Balance, Pain Regulation, and Vibrant Aging AVAILABLE

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Our brain contains a own body map, a mental representation of the body and its functions. But this isn't just about neural real estate; our body map plays a key role in emotional regulation, pain modulation, quality of life, and aging. In this half-day workshop, we'll explore the science behind body maps as it relates to these key areas of well-being. We'll examine the forces that diminish our body map, including movement amnesia, practice patterns, and the social norms and language of yoga. And we'll experience several ways to expand our brain's body mapping system, and plant seeds for its future growth, through a body map-enriching, vinyasa-inspired, movement-infused yoga practice; a connective-tissue hydrating mini-practice; therapeutic variations on savasana and restorative yoga, and embodied approaches to meditation.
