Barbara Hennessy

Barbara Hennessy has been teaching yoga for 12 years. Her teacher training certifications are with OM Yoga, Relax and Renew, and Urban Zen.
She is a Reiki Master, acquiring that level of teaching from Hyakuten Inamoto and Marcia Miller at Yoga on High in Columbus, Ohio. Pamela Miles was her first teacher and inspiration and she received her Level 1 and Level 2 training with her. Barbara is a weekly volunteer offering Reiki and Urban Zen at The Retreat, a Women’s Shelter in East Hampton, NY, and teaches Levels 1 and 2 Reiki in Amagansett, NY. She is a lead Reiki teacher in the Urban Zen training programs.
Since becoming a UZIT in 2010, Barbara has been primarily working within the Urban Zen framework, initially as part of the Urban Zen team at Southampton Hospital. Currently, she leads Urban Zen trainings, teaches Urban Zen classes for Survivors of Women’s Cancers through the Coalition for Women’s Cancers at Southampton Hospital, and teaches UZIT at Yoga Shanti, Sag Harbor, NY.
